Whiteboxing
This week we our whiteboxing our game based off of diagrams of our Levels.
Our game takes place in an underground survival bunker. So far we are working on getting a good idea of our space and all the assets that we can possibly add.
Our environment is consisted of 5 main rooms for the player to explore. Below you will find some images of our progress.
The first room is our cryo room that our player starts our in after waking up from cryo sleep. This room is mainly consisted of cryo-pods but we also have some lockers and are hoping to add some clutter objects to really utilize the space.
Another main room is our kitchen, it is mainly a room used for meetings.
The walls are all made in increments of three units, doors are two units.
Two colors were added to our space: Blue for environmental objects and contrasting orange for any other props. This helps us get a better idea of how the space is looking with our plan of the objects in place.
We are planning to keep most of our props modular so that we can really fill our game with as much as we can. Our objects will include counters, tables, monitors, boxes, posters, vending machines, and more on top of the objects we've already made.
Our game will include a lot of destruction! So many of the whitebox objects are placed with that in mind, such as boxes or machines.
We are very excited to start really getting into modeling this next week to turn our environment ideas into a reality!
Thanks for checking in and we are looking forward to sharing more of our progress with you!
Thanks so much,
Kristin.
